When I saw this, not sure why, but I thought it was just a cushiony couch that sat up against a wall and then could lay flat. Its not. There is a full frame for this. The frame has adjustable positions for sitting, reclining or lying down. The covering for the 'arms' have pockets in them for storing a book, magazine or something small. They are attached with Velcro. The main cushion is connected to the frame by way of a zippered pocket which slides over the top of the frame.I am almost 66 years old and not in the best shape so I had to rest a lot while building the frame. that said, the frame was easy to build and would probably take someone younger and healthier an hour or less to construct. The 'mattress' comes vaccuum compressed. It has been about 24 hours since I finished assembling the futon and I had hoped the mattress would have fluffed up a bit more by now. It also sits directly on the floor. Since there are wooden floors in my apartment, I placed a rug under the frame to avoid scratching the floor. I am looking into finding a platform to raise it slightly off the floor. All in all, though, I like it and look forward to using it in my office. I just wish it was fluffier.

The mattress is thin yiu can feel tube's & the moving headrest part is a little hard to do it gets stuck
